FLIGHTS + VISA

Let’s fly

We're thrilled you’d consider joining us for our celebration. Below is some good information to help you plan your travel.

The flight from the United States to India typically takes about 22 hours of travel, often with a layover in Europe. India is 11.5 hours ahead of CST, don't worry – you'll get that half-day back on your way home. To ensure you're settled in time for the festivities, we recommend arriving in Bengaluru by the morning of February 16 at the latest. Reminder, that requires leaving the US Friday February 14 at the latest! Our celebrations will conclude by the 20th, with a suggested departure date of early morning of February 21.

When booking your flight, you will want to fly into Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (airport code: BLR). Economy class flights typically range between $800 and $1300. We were excited to secure our tickets at $908! We suggest purchasing a ticket that allows for flexibility and cancellation options, as your plans may change over the course of a year.

Visa info

You will need to obtain a visa for your stay in India. Fortunately, the process is (fairly) straightforward and can be completed online. Here is what you need to know:

  1. The cost of a 30-day e-Tourist Visa for July–March is $10.

  2. You can apply here on the Official Indian Government website. The site is a bit clunky, but will keep your costs down, great for filing a single visa.

  3. iVisa helps to process travel documents, but for a processing fee. This option is great for booking multiple visas because the processing fee can be divided between up to 5 people using iVisa+ Family. The group must be traveling together, but does not necessarily need to be related family members in order to use this service. This option makes less sense for a single person unless you really don’t want to deal with the paperwork. Check out some reviews here.

  4. It is likely you will only be able to process your visa 30 days before your departure, (based on an ordinary US passport applying for a 30 day e-Tourist Visa) so no need to take action just yet.
